Hello, everyone. Welcome to the five minutes. Be PM. Yes. Today. I like to talk about that passion and be proud of the project. You did. The first thing we need to understand. And I said this so many times is that a project is not an easy task. This is why we need to manage. If a project was very simple, basic at Fort, we don't meet to manage. We don't need to have this podcast, but we don't need to publish technical articles in trying to make it happen.

You know, project is a very hard, complex work. Most of the time we believe, and we think that we can control everything. But in reality, we cannot control many of the aspects of our projects. Maybe I'm guessing here you control 20% of everything, or maybe even less than that. I cannot control how the law will change and impact my product, how the exchange rate, because I need to import, or I'm planning to export something.

I can not control the movement of a key employees, or they may receive a job all for it from someone else. And then I miss them. So of course you have a lot of things to put in place to help you to forecast mathematical tools, scheduling tools, risk management, tools, everything, but there is one point if I can share with you or my own experience, that is a critical success factor is optimism.

It's to be proud of the work that you were doing is a sense of purples. This is more, it's a bigger factor, then many times the planning techniques. So if you need to understand, you need to be engaging in something that you go home at night and you say it, wow, I did something cool. I'm not saying or doing to help you manage don't no, but something that you are proud of, something that makes you feel happy.

And then you'll say, Oh, Ricardo are, You now recording self-help podcast know and not recording at the end, this optimism and this drive will directly impact the success of your project. So I'm not saying be happy just by being happy, because be happy. Be optimist will increase the chances of success. And if you work and the happy you will increase the chances of failure, because this is the driver.

Let me give you a very simple example that I have since I was a child Olympic games. So why a lot of competitors, they break ward records during that 20 days. So what, you know, look at the year has a 365 days, four years. So we have talking about 1,200 YT concentrate all the records in 20 days, you may say, Oh, because there is a better swimsuit or there is a better technique.

Yes, but there is a very strong desire of winning. And this is a strong desire of winning makes all the difference for this. People do it. We work extremely hard and two go above and beyond their own limits to break that records. And this is the driver each not only the technique, it's this drive, you know, this and this final line that splits a good result from an outstanding result.

So you need to have this and you may ask me, Oh, Ricardo what should I do? If I don't have find another job, find another job. I'm not being English responsible of saying, okay, becomes starving. And Do no, no a start tomorrow to look for something that has a very strong sense of purpose, because this is what we'll do. A win win. Your organization will win. You we'll win.

The product will win. The market will win. We say it's a perfect combination. And this drive is what makes an, I can tell from my own experience, because I'm so fortunate because I have the opportunity in life to do so many different things. And each of them contribute to my motivation, to my sense of proudness, to become optimist about my ability to deliver projects. So this is a very, very important point. Don't think that it's only the mathematical techniques.

I'm not saying that, that they are irrelevant. Many of my podcasts, I talk about that, but he is about this drive dispassion to go in, to do more. Remember every single project is a frontier between what is possible in what is impossible. Your drive is what will make this very thing borderline to happen and happened in a very successful way. Think about that. Be more optimistic. Don't believe that I'm saying there's just because I'm president.
