Hello, everyone. Welcome to the five Minutes PM. Podcast I like to continue the series about change management. And now I want to talk about the change Corp and the church. And then of course is so important because we need to understand what happened with people's behavior and people, ability to perform when they face Change. Again, if you recall the Podcast of life last week, I said a lot about the need for change, the benefit of a proper change management.

So to do that, I want to give you, and then an allergy with a roller coaster. So imagine a roller coaster. Okay. So the height of the whole, of course there it's your performance. If you are in a very high comparing to the ground level, So you are with a high performance high morale. When you are going down, you are with lower performance and lower morale. Okay? So let's suppose you're on the starting point at the mid level. Okay.

Then you have a change. I change means the kart you are inside starts to move. Okay? Let your pose in the first moment you are inside the first moment. When you face a change, its the shock, the shock mint. What? I can not believe this happen. I cannot believe this carte is moving in and I can not stop it immediately. You go to the second. I'm so incompetent 10 years ago, I should have done differently. Why I did that? Why I did this? So you start to move towards the fifth stage. That is the most dangerous things. One is the depression and confusion. Its, when you are at the bottom, you have a clear sense of lost of control.

You have a courier sense of confusion so that you don't know, will I be able to cope with the change or not? What will happen? So look in there, imagine this in any kind of Change imagine get to a project is proposing a new year, a PC. The first is shuck. The second one is when I'm stressed, then you start blaming. Why did decided by this solution? But this technology, they don't, Oh, what they do, they need to start self-blaming should be live in this company before and this, and then you go down into see you.

We will. I be able to learn and operate in this new environment that I was not used to an after this depression, you need to go to an acceptance mode. Maybe it takes a while. Maybe your roller coaster will be a little bit longer, but then you need to realize that I cannot change this. I need to accept and move forward. And then you go to the final step on the problem solving and then you start going up again. But then at this time you don't need engines anymore because your will will make you go up.

So this is the, is a very, very important concept. And man not teaching you now, rocket, this was developed by coupler and Ross in the late sixties. So I'm not saying something that is brand new. But many times we are all the others or the manager's on the roller coaster.

So we hire in the control panel and we are putting people on the roller coaster. They can be used, Oh they can be colleagues inside our organization. They can be the community we serve. They can be our family based on our own decisions. And Dan, we are not facing the panic of the change because we are in an air condition. In the control center. We are looking, people get in the Change. We have most of the time driving the change.

We countered the same, the speed of the roller coaster. What do you do in this case? The case, the critical think is that you need to help people inside this room, rollercoaster to go through this process as quick and as effective as you can. So what you need to understand that chalk and the denials, you can not say nothing happen because you will be lined because something happened or the wise you will not be implementing the project, never lies and you need to help people because some of the people they have lost on this journey or they get stuck in one of the points.

They get stuck on the anger. They get stuck on the depression or, and even they get stuck on the top in the denial and they stayed there for this nothingness happening, but your name, we need to make them finish their journey. So you need to exercise your leadership, your communication skills, your ability to influence people, to get this people, to get, to go through the roller coaster and get to the other side. Because the only thing that matters is to change people to the problem solving scenario.

But if someone gets stuck on the computer, on the depression, you will know that be a great Change agent. And if you are not great, Change enter your project. We'll not be in touch successful. Your project will not be seen accessible. So it's very, very important that you understand this. So this is what brought me to do this course is to understand better this aspect. Remember I'm a chemical engineer, so it's Important at the end. I understand all the soft side so I can help people to make this journey faster and more effective.
