Hello everybody welcome to the five minutes PM. Podcast I received a couple of weeks ago, three, four to four emails asking me to talk more about the stakeholder analysis. I discuss it when I presented the PMBOK guide a lot about this new chapter or this new knowledge area. So right now I want to do something like a pie receipt for you to understand how do we do this? So I'm not joking, but I would be trying to do an extremely, did that goal and objective here to that.

So first material's you need to do two, understand what I would be covering this Podcast and next week Podcast so you need basically three sheets of flip chart paper to call out of post it notes. So you need some posted notes into cars. I like very much green and red or pink. So, but if you don't have, So just choose two different colors of posted notes. You need some tapes to put the flip charts on the wall, and also you need some markers, Brad markers, and black or blue or markers.

And also if you need a team with the knowledge as a group of people that can support you in the process, the first process we need to do is a brainstorming. We need to identify our key stakeholders. So what I suggested to, to take the first piece, Oh, flip chart paper and put it on the wall with the tape, then choose two people to facilitate this one with one color off posted with the second color of post it. Okay.

One we'll capture him the lice and the people that will support you. The second person will try to identify and to facilitate the opposite, or is that the people that are against your project them, I want just to stop in maple a quick note I heard, and I know that were thinking this Ricardo, it's a very hard for me to put, for example, people with negative interest in the project, because, and maybe this person is someone that is reading the project, or maybe it's very close Stakeholder or someone from the same company.

And I don't want to put the, his, or her name on the wall. So yes, the answer to you, this is a problem. So if you don't have a maturity, or if you don't have the perfect conditions to do this, do two sessions, one with the allies to analyze the allies and maybe the orders regarding the more positive, of course, the people that don't want your product. Maybe you can do the same process at home alone. So you can feel out the real picture of your project, but let's suppose, now that you are able to do does at the same time.

So within the group, you need to start identifying this in some advice. Thank you want to give to you on this process first, you can use names, people name, okay. John Smith, you can put the real name. Where are you can put the company name or the group name or the department name. What's the basic difference of doing this? Okay. Let's think about suppliers. Life. Think about government. Let's think about authorities. Let's think about my supply chain. Let's think about human resources and people. So you need to do all this brainstorming. This will take maybe one or two sessions or four to 45 minutes. So you can cover it. All of this end, the result we'll be a lot of posted notes into different colors, maybe be green for our lives and red or pink four, a positive or in the wall.

So lets suppose you identify 20 or 25 to 30 people. So if you have 30 post it notes in this first flip chart, now we go to the second process. The second process is to analyze this. So you take the second sheet of a flip chart and put it on the wall and make a big cross in the middle. You CROs from North to soften from East to West. So you make CROs in the middle of the paper. This will divide the second flip chart in four regions top right top left, bottom right in the bottom left.

And then you need to put the names. So first on the vertical line, it's what we call power. So the power comes from Xeno power, two full power. So know power is the bottom four power is the top. So as close as the post-it will state to the top means a very powerful and as closed as its to the bottom know power, then the horizontal line, you put a license on the right, a positive on the left.

So in the top, right, you have the powerful way allies. So people that really, really has the power and one of the project to happen that way in the top left, you have one powerful a, this are the very, very dangerous people because they have power in and they don't want a project on the Baton. Right? You have the cheerleaders, you have people that support you, but you don't have too much power to make things happen, but they are they're.

And then on the bottom left have the time eaters. So people that just drag your time because they are a positive, but they don't have, they just do it eight trouble for you to stop your progress. So you need to take care of them to avoid. This is more recurring damage that I can produce. Then it will be taken. Can you every single posted, you will never return back to the first flip chart. So you choose one, post it, and then you track it to map this person or this group in the second, in, in the second flip chart.

So what is your objective is to make sure that you clean up the first flip chart and transfer everything in good way to the second flipchart. So the results we'll be all that 20 to 30 posted notes. Now organize it a quarterly to the power. You think the group thing ending fluence that the group pass. So the results, this will be the Analysis of your data. So you have now to step one, the process was in the process to be off the Stakeholder management processes in the PMBOK fifth edition.
