hello everyone. Welcome to the five minutes PM podcast today for a very special podcast to talk about the PMBOK 50, Edition the most popular book and the most popular standard about project management. And for me, it's also a very special moment because I'm putting available the process flow and also a video of me teaching you how to understand and how to read the new 47 process of the PMBOK 50.

Edition talk about this. It just a little bit too. What is the PMBOK PMBOK it's by far the most relevant than the most popular is standard. When we talk about project management, we are talking about a Guide with more than 4 million copies on the market. The top one, the first, the best selling book of project management at Amazon, that eight book, a most sold regarding management, and we've a position of two Oh seven, a monk, all books.

So he imagined all the books in the marketplace, who you be a monk, that 200 most popular ones. So it's a very strong reference for those who are working into project management. And for me also, it's a privilege because I saw the previous versions of the Guide. So it's very, very interesting to see the changes and improvements in the data flow in the new process. I'm not talking about this on disease-specific podcasts.

This will be a topic for the next Podcast, but we can see, for example, the stakeholder management area, very, very important new area of the PMBOK Guide. We are talking about some refining in the data flow out in the language in the way we are writing the process. So everything to make it easier, the other way, standing out of this very, very important reference. So what I did just remember you, when I was, is starting to study for my PMP certification, this was back to the late 1997, about 16 years ago, studying.

And that was a struggling to understand how it can read this, how it can be more proactive and understand better. And at that time we didn't have too much reference to much. He studied at book's to help us to study for the test. And what I did is I took posted and I start putting on the wall in trying to frame the process, not in the knowledge areas, but in the way we as acute the project, it's basically what we call today. The chapter three of the PMBOK. And I did this in 1997 and I did, this is strongly and I prepared a video in 2008.

And right now I'm preparing not a video of 30 minutes where I go through all the process. And I decided also to make available a PDF file for free out. So to help you to understand so you can print the process instead of using postage and use your wall and try to repeat the process ID to understand this will be extremely helpful if you were thinking about applying for the PMP certification or the CAPM.

And it's very, very important. I don't have any intention on this to replace the PMBOK, but the intention it's to help the people to understand the Guide. If you are a member off the PMI, or you can go to the knowledge center in, you can download the PMBOK today, it's available only English, but the two be available in all order official languages have a BMI. So you can download that. I did this four, this time in English, N in Portuguese, I did something like an, an official translation of the processes, just to help people to understand.

So you can download the process flow only with the name of the process. And now also the complete process flow with the inputs, tools and techniques and outputs like a two at the traditional one I did in 2008, with more than 200,000 downloads for both the video and the process flow, and this will be available. And I agreed with a BMI of do it, and this, and this will help not only PMI members, but also no members to become members and to get access to the PMBOK and use this process flow, to understand, and to consolidate the knowledge of the PMBOK.

And it's not so much easier to understand it's 47 process among 10 different areas. So everything will be covered not only on the video, but also on the PDF. So you can use this in your company, in your government agency and in the work you do to improve. Again, it's very important to understand that the PMBOK is a standard. It fits in most of the cases.
